ServSafe Training & Fees
The Cape Girardeau County Food Code, adopted November 20, 2008, requires that all managers employed in food establishments in Cape Girardeau County possess a valid Food Management Certificate. This is now a mandatory requirement.
ServSafe is a two day food safety training and certificate program. A ServSafe certificate is a basic credential for restaurant and food managers. The Cape Girardeau County Public Health Center will offer the ServSafe course at scheduled dates and times (see current schedule below).
The course is also available online. After completing the online course, you must have a ServSafe registered proctor administer the test. The fee to proctor the test is $65.00 ($36.00 for the answer sheet and $29.00 for the instructor’s time.) Please call and speak with one of the Cape Girardeau County Public Health Center's proctors to schedule a test.
