The Cape Girardeau County Health Department was created in 1986 when county residents approved the establishment of a property tax to support public health activities. Public efforts are designed to prevent illness, prolong life and improve and protect the health of all the people in our community.
Many services are available to anyone regardless of financial status and are free of charge. Some clinics have financial guidelines and reasonable fees based on the cost of providing the service.
We are proud to serve Cape Girardeau County, and want you to be aware of all of the services we offer. Please browse our services menu as well as the rest of the site for important information for you and your family.
The Health Center is governed by a 5 member elected Board of Trustees that serve for 4 year terms.
Board of Trustees:
John Freeze, Chairperson
Georganne Syler, Vice Chairperson
Eric Becking, Secretary
