The Health Center
is the Local Registrar for all births and deaths that occur in Cape Girardeau
County. The Health Center can issue certified copies of death certificates for anyone dying in the State of Missouri after 1980.
Certified copies of other years of birth or death can be obtained from the Missouri Department of Health and Senior Services Website in Jefferson City, Missouri.
Certified copies of birth certificates are $15.00 each and you must show a picture ID at the time of request.
Certified copies of death certificates are $13.00 for the first copy and $10.00 for each additional copy. A picture ID is required.
