Basic Food Sanitation Class
The Cape Girardeau County Food Code, adopted November 20, 2008 requires that all managers and food handler’s employed in food establishments in Cape Girardeau County be trained in food safety. This requirement became mandatory on January 15, 2012.
Shift leaders, cooks, food prep personnel, and anyone who has direct contact with food items must possess a Basic Sanitation Food Card.
This requirement can be met by attending the Basic Sanitation Class, a two hour program offered by the Cape Girardeau County Public Health Center. After completion of an exam, Food Cards will be issued.
Fee $10.00 payable at the door
Cash and check accepted. Debit can only be accepted at classes held from 2pm-4pm.
